Graphics week 14: Presentation Preparation

P3 present design outcomes using graphic media, techniques and technology
M3 effectively present and review design outcomes using graphic media, techniques and technologies

D3 present and review design outcomes imaginatively, using graphic media, techniques and technologies.


LESSON 1
Prepare to present your designs and outcomes to the rest of the group.

Why do you need to do a presentation?
  • DEMONSTRATE COMMUNICATION SKILLS
  • REVIEW OWN OUTCOMES
  • SHARE IDEAS
  • SHARED LEARNING EXPERIENCE
  • EVALUATE

Task 1- 5mins Find yourself a presentation partner!
Discuss how you and your partner can help each other. How can you offer support?


Task 2- 15mins Working in with your partner make a list of all the things you can do to make your presentation distinction quality:
D3 present and review design outcomes imaginatively, using graphic media, techniques and technologies. 

Your presentation should include the following:
  • Examples of inspiring artists/designers work 
  • Observational drawings & initial ideas (scanned)
  • Final Developed Designs
  • Feedback from your peers
Then feedback to the group and share your ideas. 

Task 3- 40mins Use the laptops provided to start your preparation in any of the following ways:

  1. Create a folder to save evidence in (but save it on the server so you can access it on other macs)
  2. Copy evidence into the folder that you might use for your presentation- internet research images, scans of work in your sketchbook, primary photos etc
IMPORTANT POINTS TO CONSIDER:
  • If possible you should present your work in a POWERPOINT presentation so that it can be projected for the class to see. 
  • The presentation will be recorded as part of your assessment for the unit. 
Plenary- 10mins Group feedback. What problems might you have preparing your presentation? How you can you make it's distinction quality?
