10 mins: Starter- What's in a colour?

Annotate your colour samples to show which shades you most associate with the following:
summer, spring, grass, happy, winter, cold, warm

Stick the annotated colour sample sheet in your sketchbook to refer to when selecting colours for your logo.

15 mins: Preparing to add colour 
Prepare your design for adding colour in Illustrator by doing the following:
1. Draw your design out clearly in pencil
2. Draw over the design in fine liner ensuring you join the lines together properly
3. Scan the design to your email address (follow the steps on the wall)

20 mins: Live trace and add colour in Illustrator

Create a variety of logos exploring different colour combinations. What happens if you use bright/pastel colours? Similar/different colours? Light/dark colours?

20 mins: Presentation of Logo work in your sketchbook 
Print out your all your colour designs and your completed logo and present them in your sketchbook. 
Your completed logo will be assessed as Key Assessment Grade 1.

Extension activity: Create additional logo designs.

Homework

Write a review of your design process including the following points:

• What steps did you go through to create your finished logo?
• What materials and techniques did you use?
• What inspired you?
• What research did you do?
• Is your design successful?
• Are there any changes you would make to improve it?
