Maze Cafe - Project so far - the project review

Lesson Objectives: In this lesson you will: 

1 Record all your experiments helping you answer the unit objectives below:

3          Understand the suitability of materials, techniques and processes


2 Create a mindmap of ideas that follows a pathway of your choice
3 Discuss the project in a learner voice starter and self-reflective plenary

STARTER: 7 mins Review project so far.
Q and A on project so far – group to discuss experiments and feedback to teacher, with post-it note learner voice on what has worked and not worked

TASK 1: 50mins Learner documentation of experiments
During this project we have completed the following research and experiments:

  • Tilgate research
  • Tilgate drawings
  • Tilgate rubbings
  • Tilgate collected objects
  • Tilgate photos / mood board
  • Terry Winters research - looking at formal elements
  • Terry Winters inspired mono prints
  • Primary drawings turned into  motifs
  • Primary photos turned into motifs
  • Islamic Motifs research
  • Lino cut rubbings and explanation of process - with health and safety
  • Lino cut examples (in pockets)
  • Photoshop wall paper
  • Stencils: spray paint
  • Stencils: stippling 
  • Stencils: screen printing
  • Orla Kiely, Joachim Ixcalli and Richard Wright research - looking at their techniques and relating to your own

Learners to document in their sketchbooks all current work, making sure to annotate experiments. Teacher to conduct 1 to 1's on sketchbooks.

PLENARY: Group to discuss project
Teacher to re-introduce checklist and discuss project so far - learners to reflect and write personalised feedback on post-its and place on smart board at front.



SKETCHBOOKS TO BE HANDED IN FOR INTERIM ASSESSMENT
