TASK - Presentations 20 mins
In small groups you will present
your work based on your chosen artist- word clouds, moodboards, analysis and
interpretations of their work. Talk for a few minutes about what you’ve done
and how it relates to your chosen artist.
TASK – Target setting 25 mins
Swap books within your group and
give feedback about which assessment criteria has been met:
P1 compare ideas and concepts
in art and design work
P2 investigate ideas
generating techniques
P3 generate and refine ideas
in response to given briefs
P4 communicate and present
ideas and outcomes to different audiences.
M1 use the results of
purposeful research and investigation to inform own ideas and concepts,
demonstrating coherent direction in originating and developing ideas
M2 demonstrate a considered
approach to producing purposeful ideas and solutions in response to briefs,
presenting work coherently and effectively
D1 independently analyse and
interpret research to generate personal ideas and concepts, applying
sophisticated thinking in generating, modifying and synthesising original ideas
D2 demonstrate an individual
and perceptive approach to producing and communicating innovative and engaging
work, using sophisticated presentation methods
Set 3 smart targets to meet assessment criteria to
achieve your best grade.
LESSON 2
LESSON 3&4
LESSON 2
STARTER- 10 mins
Look at your initial research and write down 3 words that characterize the work of your artist. Think about the formal elements and the checklist hand out. Stick your post-it notes on the board to refer to later in the lesson.

TASK – Initial ideas ‘blind’ 20 mins
Using the ‘Visual Arts’ idea
sheets complete a minimum of 3 initial ideas considering the composition of
your imagery and font style, BUT NOT USING ANY inspiration – just your memory
of your artists work.
Annotate each idea to explain
your thoughts, what materials/techniques you would use and choice of colour.
Extension task –
Make a word cloud – using a wide
range of words to describe your artist and their work, maybe use phrases from
the internet.
TASK – review of work so far 5 mins
Group exhibition on tasks so far
– with learners walking round room to view each others work, taking back your
post-its as you go. Now open your books
back at the artists work, have you met your word targets? What can you now add
to your post-it?
TASK – refine and move onto extension 20 mins
Use any feedback to complete
work – using new words to guide your final design
Plenary – 10 mins
How did the first part of the lesson compare to
last? Did you feel more comfortable
completing work looking at the artist inspiration? Is there any reason/time what not looking at
the inspiration could help our work?
TASK - Experiment plan H/W set
Identify materials needed for
experimentation next lesson. Will you need assistance with a technique, what
techniques could you take from this session and use?
LESSON 3&4
Starter - 10 mins
Complete your project checklist filling in which tasks have been completed and identifying those to be completed. This is preparation for the interim assessment next week.
TASK - Personal lesson plan 10 mins
Complete your personal lesson plan. Identify ways of being original and innovative to meet distinction criteria:

TASK – Experimentation 40 mins
Design experimentation inspired
by your chosen artist using the materials and techniques identified last
lesson.
TASK - Group feedback 15 mins
What’s going well? Are your
chosen materials and techniques proving effective? Group exhibition of work so
far. You’ll give and receive feedback to help identify ways of making
improvements.
TASK – Experimentation continuation 35 mins
Continue to work on your design
experiments taking into account the feedback you’ve received.
Tidy away- 10 mins
